Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or a date of birth typed into a search box on this site goes straight to the outside provider that runs that tool. The provider processes the query and returns the results. We do not keep a log of what you type.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send this site an email, we hold onto the message long enough to answer it. Your note stays with us. We will not pass it to anyone outside the site unless a legal order requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, the server records routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you are on and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you opened and how long you stayed on each
- The site that referred you, if there was one
- The time of each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, the small files a site stores on your device. They show us which pages get read and where visitors stop. Analytics services help us total that traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings whenever you like. Some parts of the site may not behave the same way if you do.
What We Do With This Data
The information described above is used for a short list of purposes:
- Keeping the pages online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the right partner service
- Seeing which pages help readers and which ones need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, or sell any database of warrants or warrant records. It publishes general guidance about where Gladwin County warrant records live and how to check them through the 80th District Court, the 55th Circuit Court, the county clerk, and the sheriff's office. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file on any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are run by other companies. Anything you type into one of them is processed under that company's privacy policy, not this one. Those partners decide how long a query is kept and who else sees it. Read their policy before you run a search.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link to sheriff's office sites, court portals, Michigan court resources, legal aid groups, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the privacy policy at the destination then governs your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites in order to target ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not on ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A narrow set of parties may still see some of it:
- Search partners that handle queries run from this site
- Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on these pages
- Law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices for the data we hold. No site connected to the internet can promise complete protection, and we will not pretend otherwise. We do what we can, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent data to this site, write to us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Requests about a public record held by a court or a county office are a separate matter from this policy. Those run through the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., for agency records, or through the court rules at MCR 8.119 for case records, and they go to the office that holds the file rather than to us.
For the limited data this site holds, you can ask us to:
- Show you what is on file about you
- Correct something that is wrong
- Erase what we hold
- Stop a particular use of that data
Send any of those requests in writing and we will answer within a reasonable time.
Updates to This Policy
This policy can change. When it does, the new version appears on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back if you want to track how visitor information is handled.
